Over 110,000 Tonnes of Wood Slices in Koh Kong Exported

A firm branded Greenrich Group Co., Ltd. investing in Koh Kong province has exported over 110,000 tonnes of wood slices by far.
The encouraging update was shared by the company’s representative Mr. Rattana with H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and H.E. Mrs. Mithona Phouthorng, Governor of Koh Kong province when they led a joint delegation recently to inspect the company’s progress in agro-industry development and processing products.
Greenrich Group, continued Mr. Rattana, is a subsidiary company of Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), which is one of the world’s largest companies producing quality products for global market supplies.
The firm was licensed to operate in Cambodia since 1998 on a total of 60,200 hectares of land to cultivate and process agro-industrial crops development at Botum Sakor National Park in Koh Kong.
It was also permitted to run wood industry development project on a total of 10,077 hectares of land surface in Trapaing Roung district of the province.
Between 2007 and 2015, about 5,877 hectares of land surface were utilised, producing 138 tonnes of woods per hectare or approximately 800,000 tonnes in total.
According to Mr. Rattana, the company has generated some 2,500 jobs for the locals and is contributing essentially to environmental protection and infrastructure development.
