Alcoholic Beverage Sales and Dining in Restaurants Banned
AKP Phnom Penh, April 11, 2021 --
Phnom Penh municipal administration has ordered the ban of alcoholic beverage sales and all dining in at restaurants, eateries, cafés, food stalls, and so on for two weeks in a move to cut off the transmission chain and prevent larger community spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a directive released last night, the ban enters into force from April 11 to 24, 2021.
All food and beverage outlets can continue to operate with takeaway service, it underlined.
Business owners who fail to comply with the directive will face strict administrative and legal measures, after receiving the first warning.
At the same time, Siem Reap provincial administration began to take administrative measures - curfew and prohibition of gatherings and dining in at food and beverage outlets across the province between 08:00 pm to 05:00 am for 14 days, starting from April 10.
Threat of COVID-19 is recurring in Cambodia following the outbreak of community transmission called Feb. 20 Community Event.
As of this morning, the tally rose to 4,238, of which 3,705 are linked to the Feb. 20 incident, and Phnom Penh took the lead with daily new cases. A total of 2,152 patients have successfully recovered with 29 deaths recorded.
