COVID-19: Tally Reaches 4,238 with 157 New Cases
AKP Phnom Penh, April 11, 2021 --
The total confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia reached 4,238 with the detection of 157 new cases, pointed out a press release of the Ministry of Health this morning.
The new cases include a Nigerian passenger of 43 years old arriving in Cambodia on April 9 from Nigeria via South Korea, and 156 locally transmitted cases - 148 Cambodians and 8 Chinese.
Phnom Penh capital took the lead with 141 new positive cases, followed by Koh Kong 8, Svay Rieng 4, Takeo 2, and Kandal 1.
At the same time, the ministry announced the recovery of 72 COVID-19 patients - 69 Cambodians, 2 Vietnamese, and 1 Chinese in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces in Thbong Khmum, Kandal, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, and Preah Sihanouk. They all have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.
The total recovered cases in the Kingdom now stood at 2,152, and three new deaths were registered; bringing the death toll to 29.
