COVID-19: Community Cases Cross 2,000 Mark

The locally transmitted cases in the Feb. 20 Community Event crossed the 2,000 mark with the detection of 68 new community cases this morning.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, the new community cases include 64 Cambodians, 3 Chinese and 1 Vietnamese aged from 13 to 76 years old.
Svay Rieng province took the lead with the highest number of daily cases (28), followed by Phnom Penh capital (23), Kandal province (13) and Preah Sihanouk province (4).
At the same time, an imported COVID-19 case was found on an Indonesian national of 34 years old arriving in Cambodia on Mar. 20 from Indonesia via Singapore.
The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cambodia now stood at 2,546, with 16 deaths.
The ministry also registered 16 recovered cases; bringing the total cured patients to 1,256.
The newly recovered patients – all linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event – are 10 Cambodians, 5 Chinese, and 1 Vietnamese aged between 11 months and 63 years old in Phnom Penh and Kandal province. They have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.
