Valentine’s Bike Race in Sihanoukville Attracts 350 Participants
AKP Phnom Penh, February 14, 2021 --
The Sport Tourism Valentine’s Bike Race, held in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province this morning attracted 351 participants.
The participants are Cambodians from Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Kandal and Preah Sihanouk, as well as foreigners - Indians, Chinese, Thais, Filipinos, and British - living in Cambodia.
Organised by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Cambodian Cycling Federation and the provincial administration, the sport event was presided over the Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon and Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun.
Valentine's Bike Race was aimed not only to boost tourism, but also to shift youth’s perception on the Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Thong Khon highly appreciated the rapid development of Sihanoukville, defined by the Royal Government as the country's multi-purpose economic pole.
The race offered three subjects: 40-kilometre O’Chheuteal-Ream-O’Chheuteal mountain biking, 25-kilometre O’Chheuteal-O’Tresh-O’Chheuteal fun ride, and 15-kilometre family and couple ride along roads in city centre and along the beach.
