AKP Phnom Penh, January 21, 2021 --    

A US$5.7 million garment factory will be built in Takhmao town, Kandal province, creating 951 jobs for local people, according to a press release of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) issued this afternoon.

The garment factory project, approved recently by the CDC, is invested by New Era (Cambodia) Cashmere Textile Co., Ltd., pointed out the same source. 

Since early this month, CDC has given green light to 5 investment projects, including the above-said project, with a total capital of nearly US$22.2 million, generating some 3,000 job opportunities.

Such investment amid COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic.
