A New Garment Factory Project Approved by CDC
AKP Phnom Penh, December 31, 2020 --
Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved a new investment project with a total capital of US$6.6 million in Kandal province.
According to the CDC’s press release issued this morning, the newly approved project, belonging to Jiayuan Hengrun Int’l Textile Co., Ltd., is expected to create a total of 1,929 jobs for the locals.
Under the project, a garment factory will be built in Sangkat Svay Rolum, Takhmao town, it pointed out.
Since early this month, CDC has given green light to 16 investment projects, including the above-said project, with a total capital of nearly US$1.16 billion, generating some 9,000 job opportunities.
Such investment amid COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic.
