AKP Phnom Penh, December 30, 2020 --
The construction of Cambodia’s international standard stadium called Morodok Techo National Stadium has achieved 85 percent and will be completed as planned by May 2021.
The update was shared by Minister of Tourism and Permanent Vice President of Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC) H.E. Thong Khon following his inspection visit to the construction site early this week.
Once completed, the stadium located in Khan Chroy Changvar of Phnom Penh capital is expected to represent Cambodian national pride as well as the flourishing friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and China.
The construction of the Morodok Techo National Stadium started on April 4, 2017 under the auspices of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
Being able to accommodate about 60,000 spectators, the stadium construction, cost about US$160 million through the grant aid from China, was primarily intended to host the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
