Cambodian Journalists Attend the 2020 Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Media Online Summit

Cambodian journalists joined their counterparts in the region in the 2020 Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (LMC) Media Online Summit this afternoon.
This event was held under the presidency of H.E. Huang Kunming, Member of the Political Bureau, Member of the Secretariat, and Head of the Publicity Department, Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, China and H.E. Dr. Pe Myint, Minister, Ministry of Information, Myanmar.
As the Covid-19 plagued the world, many countries have placed restrictions on travelling. As of now, the outlook of this global fight against the pandemic is far from promising. Confronted with the common challenge, LMC countries stood in solidarity, shared weal and woe together. In the hope of sharing stories of LMC countries combating the pandemic together, and exchanging experiences in governance and economic revival after Covid-19.
The online summit was organised by the People’s Daily of China under the theme “Pour efforts to promote Lancang-Mekong cooperation”.
The Cambodian media practitioners from the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP), Deum Ampil Media Centre (DAP), and Thmey Thmey have been invited as keynote speakers, and panelists on Boosting Economy Recovery: Focus, Patience, and Mechanism, Regional and International Cooperation in Combating COVID-19.
Besides the online summit, People's Daily will host the 2020 LMC Media Online Workshop on Nov. 24-27 when all participants who are from different media organisations in China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam will explore the presentations from renowned experts and scholars on "worldwide cooperation in the battle against Covid-19”, “economic revival after Covid-19” and China's experiences in poverty reduction.
