Dr. Pich Chanmony Urges Excellence and Compassion as University of Health Sciences Marks 80 Years
AKP Phnom Penh, October 6, 2026 -- Cambodia’s First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet presided Tuesday morning over the opening ceremony of the Scientific Conference of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), organised to commemorate the institution's 80th founding anniversary.
Addressing attendees at the event, Dr. Pich Chanmony offered her proud congratulations on the milestone, highlighting the prestigious history of UHS as a leading educational institution responsible for training Cambodia's medical personnel, including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and nurses.
She praised the leadership, faculty, healthcare staff, alumni, and partners who have built and sustained the university's reputation as a vital national hub for health sector human resources.
Dr. Pich Chanmony emphasised that numerous UHS graduates are currently serving in hospitals and public institutions across the country, playing an active role in saving lives and improving public welfare.
She noted that their work reflects the landmark vision articulated by the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen that the health of the population is a vital asset for the nation.
Looking ahead, the First Lady expressed strong hope that over the next 80 years, UHS will continue its journey toward excellence, innovation, and integrity, grounded in compassion and a true spirit of national service.
